Day 3
Today I’m the full-time PPE Police. I suspect this assignment is a reflection on my abilities as a PAB, but if so I don’t disagree and I’m not complaining.
It’s sometimes stressful and sometimes very, very boring. I guess it’s a good idea to have someone do this, because when things get busy it’s easy to miss a step. I say, “wash your hands again,” at least a hundred times. The nice thing is I’m getting to know names and faces because I see them each so frequently. “What are you in your other life?” is a favourite subject for small talk.
Everyone seems to be settling in to the new routines. The main concern today is the supply of Purell; a growing number of dispensers are marked Empty and the refills are on back order. The staff don’t seem too worried. Just a little bit worried.
I’m off for now.
